The Sacred Heart or “Sagrado Corazón” expresses a vision shared between two cultures, one as a prominent religious icon in Mexico, as well as a folk/art reproduction. It symbolizes hope, pain, beauty, love and faith.
In this workshop inspired by the Sacred Heart you will learn the techniques to create a hand-printed image using the Linocut process. You will carve a Lino block and print a series of color images on paper that can be used as gift cards or as framed artworks just in time for Valentine’s Day!
This workshop will be held by Nicole Rehill, a professional Canadian visual artist making art inspired by her surroundings. She holds a Masters of Fine Arts from Emily Carr University of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with a major in drawing.
In 2022 she opened Costa Azul Arts Studio offering classes and workshops to connect the artistic community here in Mazatlan. As a teacher she encourages drawing representationally to build a core foundation of skills that can be used in many other artistic endeavors. Her business provides interactive art experiences to build a better understanding of what we see around us. As an artist her studio practice embraces abstraction to give form to the ‘unseen’ within our everyday spaces.
She is so exciting to share her knowledge with you!
